We are delighted to announce that The Reverend Phillip Dawson has been appointed as the next Rector of St Olave Hart Street. A service of institution and induction will take place on 8th January 2026 at 6pm.
Phillip
is currently serving as Curate at St Giles-in-the-Fields and as Honorary
Assistant Priest at St George’s Bloomsbury. He is also Honorary Chaplain to the
London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and regularly assists at a
number of churches in the Square Mile. He trained for ordained ministry at St
Augustine’s College of Theology while working full time and was recently
awarded an MPhil in World Christianities from the University of Cambridge. As
an ordinand, Phillip served at St Stephen Walbrook, supporting a vibrant and
growing ministry to those working in and visiting the City of London.
Before ordination, Phillip was a director of companies in the architecture, planning and construction sectors for over twenty years. He also held roles as a Non-Executive Director and Board Member of schools, charities, and housing associations. He has a passion for choral music and a particular interest in spirituality, health & wellbeing.
Reflecting on his appointment, Phillip said:

Phillip has been among the priests helping to officiate services during the interregnum and we are delighted that he will continue to do so until his formal induction. We look forward to welcoming Phillip and his partner, Henry, to St Olave Hart Street in the new year.
