A grace written for the Civic Dinner of the Guild of Investment Managers on Tuesday 18th February 2025 at The Goldsmiths' Hall.
As we gather in the grandeur of this splendid hall,
a lavish feast on which to dine,
The shimmering frocks and polished rocks
are not the only things to shine.
Invested in each person here are gifts beyond all measure,
that glow with radiancy divine when we offer them for God’s pleasure.
Let us give thanks for the feast we are to share,
may those who made and serve it be blessed
And may we also offer this earnest prayer
as we cogitate and digest it.
That this Guild, through its endeavours,
continues to appreciate the value in all life’s treasures.
To build a City and a world
that shines more lustrously than gold.
